Hello from our vice chairman Jessica Kimber-Holloway
I'm starting my second year as vice chairman of the Global Cheese Awards and I'm looking forward to another great year.
I’ve always worked in food technology and it’s a career path that has brought me over ten years of experience. I worked in product development for both Uniq and Bakkavor and I’ve been with Godminster for eight years in various roles. Nowadays I head up the production and technical side of the company - and you can also sometimes catch me doing my bit behind the table at trade shows and events.
As the daughter of a large dairy farming family, brought up in the finest and most diverse cheddar making area in the world, working in the cheese industry has always been my dream – and I’m one of the lucky ones who can say that their dream has come true. My family have been farming the fields around Bruton in Somerset for over 300 years and now I am honoured to be able to work on the behalf of our most prestigious local cheese awards.
As a region, Somerset is blessed with a wealth of great cheese producers and I look forward to continuing fostering industry links and awareness, both in Somerset and globally. As vice chairman of the Global Cheese Awards/Cheese Committee I will be supporting Christopher Stilton, our new chairman, judging the Best Deli awards and keeping the committee in line. Our intention is to make the Global Cheese Awards for 2016 bigger and better than ever before, and I look forward to keeping you up to date with developments through our social media channels.
