A big thank you to Nigel Pooley
After 22 years’ service to the Global Cheese Awards, Chairman Nigel Pooley has announced his retirement. Under his chairmanship, Nigel worked hard to promote the show and its values and was instrumental in the rebrand to the Global Cheese Awards subsequently increasing entries and sponsorship.

Nigel has worked in the industry for over 50 years and has gained a huge amount of respect from colleagues and committee members. In his position as Chairman, Nigel has moved the Awards from predominantly Cheddar to attracting international entries from all four corners of the world and we are all very grateful for his tireless efforts over the years.”

NEW GLOBAL CHEESE AWARDS CHAIRMAN ANNOUCED
Following a recent AGM, Nigel’s successor was announced as Mark Evans from Dairy Crest, supported by Jessica Kimber-Holloway from Godminster who will undertake the role of Vice Chairman.
Mark has worked in the food industry for 25 years and been involved in dairy for the past eight. He brings to the committee his commercial and operational experience and has confirmed that changes will be made to the awards in order to attract more sponsors, entries and increase awareness on an international level.
As well as supporting the show, Welshman Mark is a keen supporter of his adopted town of Frome and is actively involved in the Frome carnival, half marathon and college.
